Doug was born and raised in Houston,
Texas and Eleanor is from Richfield, Utah.
They met at BYU (a blind date) and 2 years later were married the same
week they graduated from BYU. Doug
majored in Economics and Eleanor in English/Secondary Education. Doug also
received an MBA from BYU and Eleanor received her MS in Special Education from
the University of Utah.
They are the parents of 4 children and 12 grandchildren, with the 13th due in June. They spent their early career years in Los Angeles and Phoenix, but raised their family in the Parleys neighborhood of Salt Lake City. They spent the last several years of Doug's career in Houston, Texas where he was President & CEO of Williams Gas Pipelines.
Shortly after retirement, they were called to serve as Mission President in the Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission. They returned in July 2009. Together they have taught missionary preparation classes at the Ward and Stake level. Doug previously served as a Bishop of a YSA Ward and Eleanor has over 10 years experience teaching Gospel Doctrine classes.
